Imakatsu MJ Pop

Condition:
Brand New. May include items displayed in stores.

Features:
TWO IN ONE.
Powerful popping sound combined with a sharp and lively walking action.
A jointed popper that achieves two contrasting actions in one lure.
The goal was to create a lure that anyone can use easily, delivering the full range of popper actions with just this one.
Until now, poppers have generally been categorized into two main types: those that produce a “pop” sound and those designed for “walk-the-dog” action. It has traditionally been very difficult to achieve both actions with a single popper design—one action inevitably takes precedence over the other. The "MJ Pop" solves this contradiction.
By adding weight to the tail section of the body, the MJ Pop achieves a stable flight posture. Moreover, instead of a center joint, a precisely positioned rear joint—adjusted down to fractions of a millimeter—enables long, straight casts just like a conventional popper. The added weight also causes the rear body to sink slightly, allowing it to submerge more effectively in the water. This design addresses a common weakness of poppers—poor hook-up rates when pulling bass from deep water—and significantly improves hooking performance.
The rear hook eye is placed on the underside of the body rather than at the tip of the tail, which increases braking resistance during action and allows for longer, pinpoint presentations with minimal movement. Additionally, by eliminating the rearmost hook, the rear hook is less likely to flip over the lure's back during casts. This reduces the chances of snagging on reeds or cover upon landing, easing stress when casting tight to heavy cover.
The upright floating posture and deep cup produce a powerful, deep “bop” sound that is especially effective in deeper water. Normally, a deep cup tends to grip too much water, making tight, side-to-side walking difficult. However, by incorporating a jointed body design, fine walking action is still achieved. During this walking motion, the flat-sided body synergizes with the subtle action to create intense flashing, offering a highly appealing presence even with minimal movement.
